RVing and Football: Tips for the Perfect RV Tailgate

There’s no question that football and tailgating go hand in hand.  The real question is, how do you make your tailgate party the one everyone will be talking about.  Here are some quick tips on how to have the perfect RV tailgate.

There are 5 essential things you need to make your RV tailgate party go off without a hitch: Food, drinks, decorations, entertainment, and of course an RV.

    Food

Probably the thing people stress about the most is the food. It can be hard to come up with a menu that everyone will love because everyone has different tastes, but if you keep your recipes simple or designate people to bring certain dishes, it will make things a whole lot easier for you. Try a few of these simple tailgate recipes for your next RV tailgate party

    Drinks

Drinks are equally as important as the food because what do most people do when tailgating for their favorite team? DRINK! Most people will bring their own beverages but if you want to have a signature cocktail or a fun refreshment to share like flavored Jell-O shots, your guests will surely enjoy it. Here are a couple seasonal drinks to dry:

    Decorations

When it comes to decorations at tailgate parties, some try to “out-do” their neighbors by having the biggest and baddest decorations in support of their team. Shindigz.com is a favorite party supply decoration site for all your tailgate decorating needs. They have everything from balloons and streamers to customizable life-size cutouts of your favorite players. You can also go to your local party supply store and pick up little items that add a nice touch to your RV tailgate décor such as:

    • A football field table cover, napkins and balloons in your teams’ colors or with logo, football shaped paper plates, or even a blow up goal post. You’ll be the talk of the parking lot!

    Entertainment

Having something to keep your guests entertained before, during, and after the game, are next on the important must-haves list for your RV tailgate.

Of course the most important form of entertainment is going to be the TV that you provide to watch the game on for those that don’t go into the stadium.  It doesn’t have to be a big fancy, 55” 4K UHDTV that some might prefer to watch it on, but just having something there will be enough. Heck, you could even just provide a radio and listen to the game. Most people will be busy having fun drinking, eating, and playing games.

Speaking of games, there are plenty of tailgate games out there.  I’m not talking about kid games like “pin the tail on the donkey”, although that would be pretty entertaining after a few drinks, but some fun games that adults can participate in.

                    Beer pong

                    Flip cup

                    Bags boards (cornhole)

                    Drinking Jenga

                    Bobbing for Liquor

    RV
